Five eighth of a number is equal to 60% of another number. What is the ratio between the first number and the second number respectively ?

Solution

Let the two numbers be X and Y.
So, $$\frac{5}{8}*X = 60 \% Y$$
Or, $$\frac{5}{8}*X = \frac{3}{5}*Y$$
So, $$\frac{X}{Y} = \frac{24}{25}$$

Hence, the required ratio is 24:25
