What is the total number of students in Course ‘A’ in College ‘X ?
I. The respective ratio of girls and boys is 2 : 3.
II. The number of students has grown by 5 per cent this year as compared to 4 per cent last year from the number 1000 which it was year before last.
Using statement A alone, we cannot answer the question.
Using statement B alone also, we cannot answer the question. This is because, the statement talks about the 'number of students' but we cannot determine the number of students in course A.
Even by using both the statements, we cannot determine the number of students in course A of college X. So, option d) is the correct answer.
