65% of a number is more than its two-fifth by 140. What is 30% of that number ?

Solution

Let the number be X.
So, $$ 65 \%$$ of X - $$\frac{2}{5}$$ of X = 140
Or, $$(\frac{65}{100}-\frac{2}{5})*X = 140$$
So, $$\frac{25}{100}*X = 140$$
Therefore, X = 140*4 = 560
Hence, 30% of X = 30%*560 = 168
