Let the number of days in which employee was absent = $$x$$
=> Days in which he was present = $$(56 - x)$$
Acc. to ques,
=> $$(56 - x) \times 26 - 7x = 829$$
=> $$1456 - 26x - 7x = 829$$
=> $$33x = 1456 - 289 = 627$$
=> $$x = \frac{627}{33} = 19$$
