A shopkeeper purchased some eggs at ₹ 19.20 per dozen and sold them at a profit of 25%. What is the selling price per egg?

Solution

Cost Price of 12 eggs = Rs.19.2
Cost Price of 1 egg = $$\dfrac{19.2}{12} = Rs.1.6$$
Required profit = 25%
Selling Price = $$1.6 \times \dfrac{5}{4} = Rs.2$$
