B. landed in San Francisco, California,
C. at the invitation of his brother-in-law David Stern.

Solution

In sentence A, "imigrant" is an incorrect spelling of the word "immigrant".

Sentence B is grammatically correct.

In sentence C, there should be a comma (,) after "brother-in-law".

Sentence D should have started with "the".

Sentence E should have had "be" instead of "became".

Hence, the answer is option A.
