Question 106

The term to be added to $$121a^{2}+64b^{2}$$ to make a perfect square is

Solution

$$121a^{2}+64b^{2}$$

= $$(11a)^{2} + (8b)^{2}$$

$$\because (x+y)^{2} = x^{2} + y^{2} + 2xy$$

$$\therefore$$ Required expression = $$2 * 11a * 8b$$

= $$176ab$$
