In a class of 35 students and 6 teachers, each student got sweets that are 20% of the total number of students and each teacher got sweets that are 40% of the total number of students. How many sweets were there ?
Number of students = 35 and number of teachers = 6
Sweets received by each student = $$\frac{20}{100} \times 35 = 7$$
Sweets received by each teacher = $$\frac{40}{100} \times 35 = 14$$
$$\therefore$$ Total sweets = $$(35 \times 7) + (6 \times 14)$$
= $$245 + 84 = 329$$
