Question 1

What are the Highest Common Factor and Lowest Common Multiple of 6, 72, 120?

Solution

Highest Common Factor is the number which is a common factor of all the three numbers.
HCF of 6, 72 and 120 is 6 as 6 is factor of all the three numbers.
LCM of 6,72 and 120:
120*1 = 120 which is not divisible by 72.
120*2 = 240 which is not divisible by 72.
120*3 = 360 which is divisible by 6,72 and 360.
Hence, LCM of 6,72 and 120 = 360.
Therefore, HCF and LCM of the given numbers are 6 and 360 respectively.
