If RUBY is coded as 264 and PAY is coded as 126, then how will RUPAY be coded as ?

Solution

The letters are numbered as per their position in the alphabetical series.

RUBY = 18+21+2+25 = $$66\times\ 4=264$$

PAY = 16+1+25 = $$42\times\ 3=126$$

The pattern is sum of alphabetical orders is multiplied with the number of alphabets.

RUPAY = 18+21+16+1+25 = $$81\times\ 5=405$$
