NTA Allows Fresh JEE Main 2027 Application Form: New Rules

Made a mistake in your JEE Main 2027 application form? The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed candidates to submit a fresh application for Session 1, even if they have already generated an application number or paid the examination fee.

The notice dated 30 October 2026 explains which application will remain valid, whether the earlier fee will be refunded, and when candidates should use the correction facility. Submitting a fresh form is an option, not a compulsory step for every applicant. Students should understand the payment and confirmation requirements before applying again.

JEE Main 2027 Fresh Application Form

The JEE Main 2027 fresh application facility allows candidates to fill out another Session 1 application. Each fresh form will receive a new application number. Candidates must enter their details again, upload the required documents and complete the examination fee payment.

However, generating a new application number alone does not make the fresh form valid. Successful fee payment and generation of the Confirmation Page are both necessary.

The clarification is listed on the official JEE Main website. Candidates should read it before deciding whether to submit another application.

Why Has NTA Allowed Candidates to Submit a Fresh Form?

NTA received requests from candidates who made mistakes while filling out their JEE Main 2027 Session 1 applications. In response, it has permitted fresh applications under the conditions mentioned in the latest notice.

This clarification follows the earlier public notice dated 24 October 2026. It explains how a fresh form will be treated when a candidate already has an application number or has completed payment.

However, students should not assume that every error requires a new application. NTA has advised candidates who only need to amend certain details to use the correction facility.

Before making a decision, check the mistake carefully. A fresh application requires all details and uploads again, along with a separate examination fee payment. The correction facility may be the appropriate option for changes permitted during that window.

Who Can Fill a Fresh JEE Main 2027 Application Form?

Candidates applying for JEE Main 2027 Session 1 can submit a fresh form even if they have already generated an application number or paid the examination fee.

The notice specifically addresses concerns about errors in applications. It does not make a fresh application mandatory for candidates whose existing forms are correct and complete.

Candidate’s situationWhat the notice allows or advises
Already generated an application numberA fresh application is permitted
Already paid the examination feeA fresh application is still permitted
Needs to amend certain detailsNTA advises using the correction facility
Has a correct, completed applicationThe notice does not require reapplication

Multiple application numbers do not allow multiple appearances in the same session. Appearing, or attempting to appear, using more than one application number will be treated as Unfair Means (UFM), with action under the Information Bulletin.

Simply holding more than one application number, without using them to appear multiple times, will not be treated as UFM.

Which Application Form Will Be Considered Valid?

NTA will consider the last application for which the examination fee has been successfully paid and the Confirmation Page generated. Both conditions must be fulfilled.

If a candidate starts a fresh form but does not complete these requirements, the earlier application that satisfies them will remain valid.

Application statusForm considered valid
Earlier form completed; fresh form only startedEarlier completed form
Earlier form completed; fresh form has not met both payment and confirmation requirementsEarlier completed form
Both forms have successful payment and generated Confirmation PagesLast completed form

For example, suppose a student completes the first application and downloads its Confirmation Page. The student then fills out a fresh application but leaves the payment incomplete. The earlier completed application remains valid.

If the student successfully pays for the fresh application and generates its Confirmation Page, that later application becomes valid. Keep the application number and Confirmation Page together to avoid confusion.

JEE Main 2027 Fresh Application Form Last Date

The last date to complete a fresh JEE Main 2027 application, including fee payment, is 22 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM, without a late fee.

Candidates can also complete fresh applications during the late-fee window from 23 November to 26 November 2026, with the deadline at 11:50 PM on 26 November.

EventDate and deadline
Fresh application without late fee22 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM
Fresh application with late fee23–26 November 2026
Final late-fee deadline26 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM
Application correction facility27–29 November 2026

Do not treat form submission alone as completion. Check the payment status and ensure that the Confirmation Page has been generated. The correction window is a separate facility for amending details; it should not be confused with the fresh application deadline.

Will the Earlier Application Fee Be Refunded?

No. The examination fee paid for an earlier application will neither be refunded nor adjusted against the fresh application.

Candidates choosing to submit a fresh form must therefore account for another examination fee payment. The earlier payment cannot be transferred to the new application number.

This is an important reason to review the correction option before starting again. NTA advises students who only need to amend certain details to use the facility available from 27 to 29 November 2026.

The fresh application notice does not list every field that can be corrected. Check the applicable correction instructions before assuming that a particular detail can be changed.

Documents to Upload Again in the Fresh Application Form

Candidates must enter all details and upload their photograph, signature and required documents again. Do not assume that information or uploads from the earlier form will automatically carry over.

The notice does not provide a separate document checklist or revised upload specifications. Follow the requirements shown in the official application portal and applicable instructions.

Before paying, review every entry and uploaded file carefully. After completion, save the new Confirmation Page and payment record.

Conclusion

The JEE Main 2027 fresh application facility gives candidates an option to apply again after making mistakes in their Session 1 form. Before submitting another application, remember that NTA will consider the last form with successful fee payment and a generated Confirmation Page. The earlier examination fee cannot be refunded or transferred, so review your details carefully before paying again.

Complete your fresh application by 22 November 2026 to avoid a late fee, or within the late-fee window ending on 26 November 2026. If you only need to amend certain details, check the JEE Main 2027 correction window instructions before starting a new form. Save the valid application number, Confirmation Page and payment record for future reference.
