With the examination date almost here, what will benefit your NMAT score are smart revision and smart strategies rather than learning new concepts.

Note: As some students have already attempted the NMAT 2025 on 5th November. On the basis of that we have mentioned the important topics and tips for the students who are going to appear for NMAT later.

NMAT Section-Wise Last-Minute Strategy

Each part of the NMAT requires a different strategy. A systematic, balanced approach to each section will allow you to score as high as possible and make the least amount of mistakes on exam day.

Verbal Ability (VA) – Last-Minute Tips:

The Language Skills section tests grammar, comprehension, and vocabulary through reading comprehension questions. We require the most speed and precision, with accuracy.

  1. Practice Reading Comprehension (RC): Focus on short RC passages. Revisit past NMAT RC questions and work on inference and author tone-based questions.

  2. Improve Sentence Correction: Revise common error-spotting rules and practice parajumbles. Focus on logical connections between sentences.

  3. Work on Critical Reasoning: Brush up on the basic principles of logical reasoning, especially for critical reasoning questions. These can often appear in RCs or standalone questions.

Logical Reasoning (LR) – Last-Minute Tips:

This section can be difficult due to its length and the variety of questions.

  1. Solve Puzzles: Practice arrangement-based puzzles (like seating arrangement or grouping), as they are common in NMAT LR sections.

  2. Revise Venn Diagrams: Refresh your knowledge on set theory, Venn diagrams, and syllogism problems. These types of questions are likely to appear in your slot.

  3. Practice Fact-Statement and Assumptions: Quickly revisit fact-statement and inference-based reasoning questions to ensure you can answer them accurately under time pressure.

Quantitative Aptitude (QA) – Last-Minute Tips:

The Quantitative skills section measures mathematical capabilities and analytical ability. The goal here is to maximize questions correctly answered in the least time possible.

  1. Review DI Sets: Focus on calculation-intensive DI sets (bar graphs, tables) as they are challenging and time-consuming. Practice solving them quickly.

  2. Brush Up on Algebra: Prioritize quadratic equations, logarithms, and simple algebraic expressions. These often trip students up in NMAT.

  3. Revisit Basic Arithmetic: Spend time on percentages, ratios, profit-loss, and interest questions. These are frequently asked in NMAT, and practicing them will help you save time.

NMAT Last Minute Revision Plan

In the last phase of revising, it is about consolidating your knowledge. Having a structured revision schedule will allow you to feel relaxed and prepared on the last day.

1. Focus on Time Management and Accuracy

Practice solving questions within the allotted time to improve speed while ensuring accuracy. For sections like Quantitative Skills, which are calculation-heavy, maintaining accuracy will save time in the long run. Aim for a balance between speed and correctness.

2. Prioritize Short and Manageable Questions in Each Section

In Language Skills, focus on short RCs and parajumbles that are manageable within the time limit. In Logical Reasoning, prioritize simpler puzzles and Venn diagram-based questions, as these tend to be less time-consuming. For Quantitative Skills, focus on practicing quick arithmetic and algebra problems before tackling the more difficult DI sets.

3. Strengthen Key Topics with High Weightage

Language Skills: Revise RCs with basic inferences and author's tone, and solidify your understanding of grammar rules for error spotting.

Logical Reasoning: Focus on arrangement-based puzzles, Venn diagrams, and syllogisms as they are commonly tested.

Quantitative Skills: Prioritize percentages, ratios, and probability as these areas frequently appear in the exam and are typically less time-consuming than complex DI sets.

4. Mock Test Practice for Adaptive Format

The adaptive exam format requires consistent practice under timed conditions. Take as many NMAT mock tests as possible to get familiar with the format, anticipate the difficulty progression, and adjust your strategy accordingly.

5. Review Previous Year Papers

Go through previous year NMAT Previous papers to get a better understanding of the question types and difficulty levels. This will also help you identify recurring question patterns and fine-tune your approach, especially for the Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning sections.
