    JEE Main 2026 Results Out

NTA has released the JEE mains results for the session 1 of 2026 on 16th Feb 2026. It was one of the most expected moments by the students who took the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026.

The exam is significant in determining the future of engineering aspirants who wish to join the best engineering colleges in India, such as IITs, NITs, IIITs and other engineering colleges. The exam is taken in two sessions per year by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Now, the wait is over and they can find out whether they have made it through to the next step, JEE Advanced 2026, after months of preparation and anticipation.

However, NTA also released the JEE Mains Session II application portal.

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Results

You might be thinking how JEE Main session I and session II actually calculate the percentile for all students.

After the JEE Mains final answer key is published, the NTA will lock raw scores for all Session 1 candidates.

    • These raw scores are then used to calculate percentile scores using a special method called normalisation.

This process ensures fairness across different exam shifts and makes sure that students from different shifts are compared on a level field. No objections can be submitted once the final answer key is out.

Note: Currently objection window is also open, but before submitting any query, ensure you have gone through the facts and ask your teachers.

Since, the JEE Mains Session 1 result is LIVE, you can see:

    • All India Rank
    • See your section-wise percentile score
    • Check subject-wise performance (Physics, Chemistry, Maths)
    • Find your qualifying status

This result is important because it determines eligibility for JEE Advanced 2026 for top scorers.

    JEE Main Scorecard 2026

The JEE Main scorecard is the official document that shows your performance details. Both session results are published as online scorecards. The scorecard mainly contains your score, total applicants, personal data, admit card number and some details like the session and date you gave the exam.

    Important things about the scorecard:

    • It is released online on the official JEE Main portal.
    • You need your login details to download it.
    • Always save a copy for future use.

As said, JEE Main happens in multiple shifts and sessions. NTA uses Normalisation. Let’s see how it works.

The normalised score (or percentile) tells you how many candidates scored less than or equal to you in your shift.

    Formula:

    NTA Score =
(100 × Number of candidates in the session with raw scores ≤ your score) ÷ Total number of candidates in that session

This makes the comparison fair across different days and exam slots.
