Interesting Caselet!I think the highlight of the problem is " Nobody died"Which means Age bracket (>50 will always increase)And if you observe 2016 data of (>50 group) number is 29.And suddenly in the next year for the same (>50 group), there is jump of two people= 31This should have come from (41-50 group) who were exactly 50 yr old in year 2016 and became 51 year old in 2017.I guess that could be a starting point of interpretation.

Can you please find the value of y:24y/5+42=5y+35

y=35(24y+45*5)/5=5y+3524y+210=5(5y+35)24y+210=25y+175210-175=25y-24y35=y

in the 1st step why 5 was multiplied by 42. And if it is multiplied how can we multiply it again by 5y+35

Hai Srishti, Logical Reasoning is one of the important sections in CAT. It is clubbed with Data Interpretation. A total of 8sets or 32 questions will be tested in this section.
