Solution

Mid-point = $$(\frac{x_{1}+x_{2}}{2} , \frac{y_{1}+y_{2}}{2})$$ $$\Rightarrow \frac{5+x}{2}=8 \Rightarrow x = 16 - 5 = 11$$

so the answer is option B.
