A solid metallic sphere of radius 30cm is dropped into a cylindrical vessel of diameter 80cm if the vessel is partly filled with water and the sphere dropped in it is completely immersed than by how much the water level increases?
Volume of the sphere = Volume of water displaced by it i.e. Area of the base of cylinder x Increase in height of the water level.
$$\frac{4}{3}\pi\ 30^3=\pi\ 40^2\times\ H$$
H = 22.5 cm.
So, change in the level of water = 22.5 cm.
