Question 86

If 5x/2 - [7(6x - 3/2)]/4 = 5/8, then what is the value of x?

Solution

Expression : $$\frac{5x}{2}-[\frac{7}{4}(6x-\frac{3}{2})]=\frac{5}{8}$$

= $$\frac{5x}{2}-[\frac{7}{4}(\frac{12x-3}{2})]=\frac{5}{8}$$

= $$\frac{20x}{8}-(\frac{84x-21}{8})=\frac{5}{8}$$

= $$20x-84x+21=5$$

= $$-64x=5-21=-16$$

= $$x=\frac{-16}{-64}=\frac{1}{4}$$

=> Ans - (A)
