The total surface area of a hemisphere is 462 sq cm, what is its curved surface area? (Take π = 22/7)

Solution

Let radius of hemisphere = $$r$$ cm

Total surface area of hemisphere = $$3 \pi r^2 = 462$$ ------------(i)

Multiplying equation (i) by $$\frac{2}{3}$$

=> $$\frac{2}{3} \times 3 \pi r^2 = \frac{2}{3} \times 462$$

=> Curved Surface area of hemisphere = $$2 \pi r^2 = 2 \times 154 = 308$$ $$cm^2$$

=> Ans - (C)
