Question 80

An engineering student has to secure 25% marks to pass. He gets 47 and fails by 43 marks. What are the maximum marks of the examination?

Let maximum marks = $$100x$$

=> Passing marks = $$\frac{25}{100} \times 100x = 25x$$

According to ques,

=> $$25x - 43 = 47$$

=> $$25x = 47 + 43 = 90$$

=> $$x = \frac{90}{25} = \frac{18}{5}$$

$$\therefore$$ Maximum marks = $$100 \times \frac{18}{5} = 360$$

=> Ans - (C)
