Question 75

The area of a square field is $$7200 m^2$$. What is the length of its diagonal?

Solution

Let the length of the side of the square field = $$a$$

Given, the area of the square field = $$7200 m^2$$

$$=$$>  $$a^2=7200$$

$$=$$>  $$a=60\sqrt{2}$$

$$\therefore\ $$Length of the diagonal of the square field = $$\sqrt{2}a$$ = $$\sqrt{2}\left(60\sqrt{2}\right)$$ = 120 m
