The difference between the number of persons of ages below 20 years in villages D and E, taken together, is what
percentage of the number of persons of the same age group in village D?

Solution

The number of persons of age below 20 years in Village D = $$\frac{20}{100}\times4500=900$$

The number of persons of age below 20 years in Village E = $$\frac{25}{100}\times6000=1500$$

$$\therefore\ $$Required Percentage = $$\frac{1500-900}{900}=\frac{600}{900}\times100=\frac{200}{3}\%$$
