A wall 12 m long, 9 m high and 30 cm thick is to be constructed. How many bricks will be required if all bricks are of the same size of length 24 cm, breadth 18 cm and height 15 cm?
A wall 12 m long, 9 m high and 30 cm thick is to be constructed.
Here two sides of wall is in 'meter' but thickness is in 'cm'. So we need to convert all of them in 'cm' by 1 meter = 100 cm.
volume of wall =Â $$1200\times900\times\ 30$$Â Â Eq.(i)
Let's assume the number of bricks will be required is 'y'.
if all bricks are of the same size of length 24 cm, breadth 18 cm and height 15 cm.
volume of each brick = $$24\times18\times\ 15$$Â Â Â Eq.(ii)
So Eq.(i) = y $$\times$$ Eq.(ii)
$$1200\times900\times\ 30 =Â y\times24\times18\times\ 15$$
$$100\times100\times2=y\times2\times2$$
$$100\times50=y$$
number of bricks required = y = 5000
