Question 72

The length of one side of a rhombus is 17 cm and one of the diagonals was 16 cm. Find the length of the other diagonal.

Solution

Using Pythagoras theorem, $$OD^2 = \sqrt{AD^2 - OA^2} = \sqrt{289-64} = \sqrt{225} = 15$$ cm
Therefore, The length of the other diagonal = 2*15 = 30 cm
