Sum of lengths of train = $$108+112=220$$ m

Trains are running towards each other, => Relative speed = $$45+54=99$$ km/hr

= $$99\times(\frac{5}{18})=27.5$$ m/s

=> Time taken = distance/speed

= $$\frac{220}{27.5}=8$$ seconds

=> Ans - (D)
