The perimeter of a right triangle is 30 cm and its hypotenuse is 13 cm. The area of the triangle is:
Solution
a+b+c=30
c=13
a+b=17
$$c^{2}$$=$$a^{2}+b^{2}$$
169=$$a^{2}+b^{2}$$
By solving we get a=12 b=5Â
This is a most common Pythagorean triplet and should remember it.
Area=(1/2)*12*5
=30 sq cm
