Question 68

The table shows the production of different types of cars (in thousands).

The average production of all type of cars in 2014 is approximately what percent less than the total production of type B cars in 2013 and type D cars in 2010 taken together?

Solution

From the table,

The average production of all type of cars in 2014 = $$\frac{63+64+56+65+72}{5}$$ = $$\frac{320}{5}$$ = 64

The total production of type B cars in 2013 and type D cars in 2010 taken together = 68 + 42 = 110

$$\therefore\ $$Required percentage = $$\frac{110-64}{110}\times100$$ = $$\frac{46}{110}\times100$$ = 41.8%

Hence, the correct answer is Option A
