Question 68

In a triangle ABC, AB = 8 cm, AC = 10 cm and ∠B = 90°, then the area of ΔABC is

Solution

In $$\triangle$$ ABC,

=> $$(BC)^2=(AC)^2-(AB)^2$$

=> $$(BC)^2=(10)^2-(8)^2$$

=> $$(BC)^2=100-64=36$$

=> $$BC=\sqrt{36}=6$$ cm

$$\therefore$$ Area of ΔABC = $$\frac{1}{2} \times AB \times BC$$

= $$\frac{1}{2} \times 8 \times 6=24$$ $$cm^2$$

=> Ans - (D)
