A man Walks a distance at 8 km/h and returns at 6 km. If the total time taken by him is $$3\frac{1}{2}$$ hours, the total distance he walks is
Solution
Let distance each side be $$d$$ km
Using, time = distance/speed
=> $$\frac{d}{8}+\frac{d}{6}=3.5$$
=> $$\frac{7d}{24}=\frac{7}{2}$$
=> $$d=12$$ km
Thus, total distance travelled (both sides) = $$12\times2=24$$ km
