A started running towards north direction at 6:00 a.m. B also started running towards north direction at 10:00 a.m. At what time will they meet if the speeds of A and are in the ratio 3 : 7 and they started from the same point?
Solution
Let the speeds of A and B respectively be 3 km/hr and 7 km/hr
Distance covered by A in 4 hours (10-6) = $$4\times3=12$$ km
Now, relative speed (when running in same direction) = $$7-3=4$$ km/hr
=> Time taken for them to meet (starting from 10 am) = $$\frac{12}{4}=3$$ hours
$$\therefore$$ They will meet at = 10 am + 3 hours = 1 pm
=> Ans - (A)
