r = 3 cm

The total surface area of the cone = $$\pi\ r\left(r+\sqrt{\ r^2+h^2}\right)$$

= $$\pi\ 3\left(3+\sqrt{\ \left(3\right)^2+\left(4\right)^2}\right)$$

= $$3\pi\ \left(3+\sqrt{\ 9+16}\right)$$

= $$3\pi\ \left(3+\sqrt{\ 25}\right)$$

= $$3\pi\ \left(3+5\right)$$

= $$3\pi\ \times\ 8$$

= $$24\pi cm^2$$
