Question 61

The radius of base of a right circular cone is 6cm and its slant height is 10cm. Then its volume is ?$$(use \pi = 22/7 )$$

Solution

Radius of cone = $$r=6$$ cm

Slant height of cone = $$l=10$$ cm

Let $$h$$ be the height of cone

=> $$(h)^2=(l)^2-(r)^2$$

=> $$(h)^2=(10)^2-(6)^2=100-36$$

=> $$h=\sqrt{64}=8$$ cm

$$\therefore$$ Volume of cone = $$\frac{1}{3} \pi r^2 h$$

= $$\frac{1}{3} \times \frac{22}{7} \times (6)^2 \times 8$$

= $$\frac{96 \times 22}{7} = 301.71$$ $$cm^3$$

=> Ans - (A)
