Question 60

If a cone of radius 10.5 cm and height 12 cm is melted and constructed into a cylinder of the same radius, what will be the height of this cylinder?

Solution

Let height of cylinder = $$h$$ cm and radius, r = 10.5 cm

Height of cone, H = 12 cm and Radius, R = 10.5 cm

According to ques, Volume of cylinder = Volume of cone

=> $$\pi r^2 h = \frac{1}{3} \pi R^2 H$$

=> $$(10.5)^2 \times h = \frac{1}{3} \times (10.5)^2 \times 12$$

=> $$h = \frac{12}{3} = 4$$ cm

=> Ans - (D)
