Solution

A train moves at a speed of 35 km/h for the first 2 hours.

Distance covered in the first 2 hours = $$35\times2$$ = 70 km
At a speed of 50 km/h for the next 4 hours.

Distance covered in the next 4 hours = $$50\times4$$ = 200 km

Average speed of the train during the entire journey = $$\frac{total\ distance}{total\ time}$$

= $$\frac{70+200}{6}$$

= $$\frac{270}{6}$$

= 45 km/h
