Question 6

In a plane, given any three non collinear points, the number of parallelograms that can be formed such that the three given points become three consecutive vertices is _______

Correct Answer: 3

Solution

Any of the three points can be the middle one of the three consecutive vertices. Once the middle vertex is chosen, the fourth vertex is fixed (it is the sum of the two outer points minus the middle one). So there are 3 parallelograms.
