A train takes 1 minute to cross a stationary pole. How much time (in seconds) will it take to cross a bridge whose length is twice that ofthe train?

Solution

As we know that

Speed = $$\frac{distance}{time}$$

Given

Let train length = D

Speed = $$\frac{D}{60}$$

Now

Given that

Bridge length = 2D

Time = $$\frac{bridge length+ train }{speed}$$

Time = $$\frac{2D+ D }{\frac{D}{60}}$$

Time = 180
