A farmer sells wheat. He mixes the two types of wheat he grows. 30 kg of the first group costs him ₹900 and 20 kg of the other group costs him ₹1100. At what price per kg should he sell the mixture so as to earn 25% on his average cost?
30 kg of the first group costs him ₹900 and 20 kg of the other group costs him ₹1100.
Average Cost price of each kg = $$\frac{900+1100}{30+20}$$
= $$\frac{2000}{50}$$
= 40
He wants to earn 25% profit on his average cost price of each kg.
So the average selling price of each kg = 40 of (100+25)%
= 40 of 125%
= $$40\times\ \frac{125}{100}$$
= $$40\times\ \frac{5}{4}$$
= ₹50
