Question 54

The height of a cylinder is 3 cm more than the radius of its base. If the height is 10 cm, then what is the volume of this cylinder? [Use $$\pi = \frac{22}{7}$$]

The height of a cylinder is 3 cm more than the radius of its base. If the height is 10 cm.

height of a cylinder = 3 cm + radius of its base

10 cm = 3 cm + radius of its base

radius of its base = 10 cm - 3 cm

 = 7 cm

Volume of this cylinder = $$\pi\ \times\ radius^2\times\ height$$

= $$\frac{22}{7}\times\ 7^2\times\ 10$$

= $$22\times\ 7\times\ 10$$

= 1540 $$cm^3$$
