Question 54

Find the volume of a sphere having a diameter of 6 mm, in terms of $$\pi$$.

Solution

diameter of the sphere is 6 mm.

the radius of the sphere = $$\frac{6}{2}$$ = 3 mm

Volume of a sphere = $$\frac{4}{3}\times\pi\ \times\left(radius\right)^3$$

= $$\frac{4}{3}\times\pi\ \times\left(3\right)^3$$

= $$4\times\pi\ \times\left(3\right)^2$$

= $$4\times\pi\ \times9$$

= $$36\pi$$ $$mm^{3}$$
