A room has length 15 feet, width 12 feet and height 10 feet. It has one door of dimensions 8 ft and 3.5 ft, and 2 windows of size 5 ft $$\times$$ 3 ft. Find the cost of painting the four walls and the ceilling at ₹50 per $$ft^{2}$$
Given,
Length of room = 15 feet
Width of room = 12 feet
Height of room = 10 feet
Dimension of 1 door = 8$$\times\ $$3.5 feet
Dimension of 2 windows = $$5\times3$$ feet
As we know,
Area of four walls = $$2\left(L+B\right)H$$
Now required Area = Area of four walls + area of ceiling - (area of one door + area of 2 windows)
= $$2\left(15+12\right)\times\ 10\ +\ \left(15\times\ 12\right)\ -\ \left(\left(8\times\ 3.5\right)+2\left(5\times\ 3\right)\right)$$
= $$540\ +\ 180\ -\ \left(28+30\right)$$
= $$662\ ft^2$$
Total Cost of Painting = $$area\ \times\ rate\ of\ painting\ $$
= $$662\times\ 50=₹33100$$
Hence, Option D is correct.
