The length of a cuboid is twice its breadth and its height is half of its breadth. If the height of the cuboid is 2 cm, then what is the edge of a cube having the same volume as that of the cuboid?
Volume of cuboid = lbh
l = length
b = breadth
h = height
Volume of cube side a = $$ a^3 $$
height of the cuboid = 2 cm
height is half of its breadth, h=$$ \frac{b}{2} $$
                       2=$$ \frac{b}{2} $$
                       b = 4 cm
length of a cuboid is twice its breadth , l = 2b
                                = $$ 2 \times 4 = 8 $$
Volume of cuboid = lbh = $$ 8 \times 4 \times 2 = 64 $$
Volume of cuboid = volume of cube
64 = $$ a^3 $$
a = 4
