it becomes a right angle triangleÂ
chord = 24 cmÂ
so
base of triangle = half of 24 = 12 cm
height = 5cm
apply pythagoras's thearomÂ
hypotenuse = $$\sqrt(5^2 + 12^2)$$
         = 13cm
