Cost of Type - I Liquid is Rs. 32 per ltr ;
Cost of Type - II Liquid is Rs. 40 per ltr.
IfΒ both types of liquids are mixed in the ratio 3 : 5 to create a new type of Liquid (named Type - Ill), then determine the cost per ltr of the the newly created Type - Ill Liquid, considering the fact that there have been no other costs involved in creation of the new liquid ?
We are given that:
Type I β Rs. 32/ltr
Type II β Rs. 40/ltr
Ratio = 3 : 5
We can simply solve this using the weighted average method.
Cost =Β $$\dfrac{\left(32\times3\right)+\left(40\times5\right)}{3+5}=\dfrac{96+200}{8}=\dfrac{296}{8}=37$$
Hence, the answer isΒ Rs. 37 per litre.Β
