Question 47

A regular pyramid has a square base. The height of the pyramid is 22 cm and side of its base is 14 cm. Volume of pyramid is equal to the volume of a sphere. What is the radius (in cm) of the sphere?

Solution

Volume of pyramid=$$(1/3)b^2h$$

=$$(1/3)×14^2×22$$=4312/3 .

Volume of sphere$$=(4/3)π×r^3$$

So, $$(4/3)πr^3=4312/3$$

or, $$r^3=343$$

or, r=7 .

B is correct choice.
