Question 44

The first and last terms of an arithmetic progression are 25 and -52. What is the sum of the series if it has 12 terms?

In an arithmetic progression with first term, $$a = 25$$ , last term, $$l = -52$$

Number of terms = $$n = 12$$

$$\therefore$$ Sum of A.P. = $$\frac{n}{2} (a + l)$$

= $$\frac{12}{2} (25 - 52)$$

= $$6 \times (-27) = -162$$

=> Ans - (A)
