In a reaction $$A + B \rightarrow C + D$$, $$5\text{ mol L}^{-1}$$ of 'A' is allowed to react with $$3\text{ mol L}^{-1}$$ of 'B'. After 10 min the concentration of A was found to be $$4\text{ mol L}^{-1}$$. Rate of reaction with respect to 'A' (in $$\text{mol L}^{-1}\text{ min}^{-1}$$) is _______
Correct Answer: 0.1
The concentration of A falls by $$5 - 4 = 1\text{ mol L}^{-1}$$ in 10 minutes. So the rate with respect to A is $$\frac{1}{10} = 0.1\text{ mol L}^{-1}\text{ min}^{-1}$$.
