Question 28

If 6 # 8 = 10 and 5 # 12 = 13, then 9 # 40 = ?

Solution

The pattern followed is : $$a$$ # $$b=c$$ $$\equiv a^2+b^2=c^2$$

Eg :- $$(6)^2+(8)^2=36+64=100=(10)^2$$

and $$(5)^2+(12)^2=25+144=169=(13)^2$$

Similarly, $$(9)^2+(40)^2=81+1600=1681=(41)^2$$

=> Ans - (C)
