When $$(5x^2 + 70x - 160)$$ is divided by $$(x + 16)$$, then the quotient is
Factorise the dividend as $$5x^2 + 70x - 160 = 5(x^2 + 14x - 32) = 5(x + 16)(x - 2)$$. Dividing by $$(x + 16)$$ leaves the quotient $$5(x - 2)$$.
