Question 156

In an examination it is required to get 310 of the aggregate marks to pass. A student gets 28% marks and is declared failed by 93 marks. What are the maximum aggregate marks a student can get ?

Solution

Let the max marks in the exam = $$100x$$

Passing marks = 310

Now, acc to ques,

=> $$(\frac{28}{100} * 100x) + 93 = 310$$

=> $$28x = 310 - 93$$

=> $$x = \frac{217}{28} = 7.75$$

$$\therefore$$ Max marks = 100 * 7.75 = 775
