If $$sin\theta + \sin^2\theta = 1$$, then the value of cos12$$\theta$$ + 3cos10$$\theta$$ + cos6$$\theta$$ +  3cos8$$\theta$$  - 1 is

Solution

Given equation can be written as $$(cos^4\theta + cos^2\theta)^3 -1$$
as $$sin\theta + sin^2\theta = 1$$
or $$sin\theta = cos^2\theta$$
putting above value in given equation it will be
$$(sin^2\theta + sin\theta)^3 -1 = 0$$
