Question 140

If (0, 0), (0, 4), (3, 0) are vertices of a triangle, then the distance between the circumcentre and the orthocentre of the triangle is

Solution

As we can see the given triangle is a right-angled triangle. Hence its orthocentre(0,0). Circumcentre will be at the midpoint of hypotenuse i.e. (1.5,2)

Distance between them $$\sqrt{\ \left(1.5\right)^2+\left(2\right)^2}=\sqrt{\ 6.25}=2.5$$
